Check out some of our week’s highlights from our Mechatronics Supersonic Hair Tonic Educator Vihan.
We capped off last week with a Fun Friday session! The kids and educators gathered together to do some fun learning activities as a group and let their hair down, of course metaphorically speaking. The kids were super appreciative of the downtime after a hard week of hospitality training and mock exams.
Now, The kids are back from their much awaited long weekend, looking daisy fresh and ready to take on yet another project which is set to bring out our kids’ creative sides. If you were given the opportunity, how would you have built your school? Well, that’s exactly what we’ve tasked our kids with for the next two weeks, and it’s off to a great start. Conceptualizing, Floor plans and TinkerCAD; the kids have hit the ground running with drawing up their ideas for improving the academy and judging by the first few drafts, we’re going to have some insane models to exhibit next week (some which go completely off book).
Our brainstorming sessions alone yielded quite a fruitful discussion on HOW outrageous they could get and it really looks like it’s going to be an exciting few days ahead for our students!

As Vihan’s words above echo, we are turning a corner in our Empower Program as we navigate the final few weeks leading up to the time when we need to say goodbye to these students who have stolen our hearts and set them on a journey to pave their own unique paths for a brighter tomorrow.
“There is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we are brave enough to be it.”
– Amanda Gorman
Sometimes it’s not easy being a light or following a light. It takes determination, patience and a ton of empathy. I have met so many people on this journey that I am in awe of, simply because of their dedication and perseverance to help others. This does take a toll however and that light of ours does tend to flicker and the tunnel we’re in seems to stretch on forever at times.
As you wonder how to stay afloat, maybe the answer is as simple and magical as sparkles. I know you might think that sparkles only exist in the imagination of a five year old, but these tiny specks of brilliance do work their way up to gradually illuminating our way, eventually coalescing into a magnificent beam of light.
It’s in the essence of these little things, these glimmers of magic, that we find the power to persevere. They remind us that even the smallest gestures or moments of joy can have a profound impact. After all, it’s often the little things that make the biggest difference on our journey.
“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” – George Eliot
From sentimental small things to exciting partnerships now.
We’ve really enjoyed working with one of our vocational partners, Jetwing, this week. They conducted interviews for our prospective students, assessing their suitability for their training program. Witnessing the students waiting anxiously, clutching their freshly prepared CVs, was quite a sight. As I walked the open corridors, I found myself both nervous and excited at the same time, so I can only imagine what our prospective hospitality students were feeling!
Our dedicated Educator team has been incredibly busy, working closely with these enthusiastic students to refine their CVs, ensuring they put their best foot forward during the interviews. The preparation time clearly made a difference as the students filled with anticipation, eagerly awaited their turn to showcase their abilities.
We also had the opportunity to meet some interesting new people who visited our Academy, which was an insightful experience. Listening to different perspectives and talking about our work was truly uplifting and motivating.
Our student recruitment efforts have seen some success as well. With four out of six classes already filled, we are well on our way to changing the lives of 120 students in just a matter of months. Simultaneously, witnessing the progress and growth of our current batch has been truly awe-inspiring, as they have gained confidence and become active contributors to our school community. Each day, I am more and more impressed with our student leaders and the way they’ve stepped up in remarkable ways and risen to the occasions we’ve sent their way.
As graduation approaches, we anticipate a joyous celebration filled with unforgettable moments. Our students have worked diligently to reach this milestone, and their accomplishments deserve to be honored. Not only can they look forward to a fun-filled graduation ceremony, but they can also expect some interesting surprises along the way.
We couldn’t be prouder of our students and the dedication they have shown. The impact they will have on our school and beyond is immeasurable. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this transformative journey together.
